I am Sultana Akter from Bangladesh, currently a Ph.D. student in Bioinformatics at the University of Missouri (Mizzou), which I began in the summer of 2024. I hold a master’s degree in Statistics from Western Michigan University and a bachelor’s degree in Statistics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. My academic journey has been driven by a strong interest in statistics, data science, and information technology, all of which are seamlessly integrated into my current Ph.D. program. My research focuses on applying statistical tools across various biological disciplines. I am passionate about mentoring and sharing my knowledge, and I thrive in multicultural settings where I aim to foster significant professional development and partnerships.
