Bio

Giovanna graduated with a MSc in Engineering of Materials and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Ferrara (Italy). Her area of research is Applied Mathematics and particularly mathematical and computational modeling of complex fluid flows arising in engineering and bio-medical applications. Since 2010, she has been focusing on the modeling of ocular blood flow. The goal is to investigate the bio-mechanical connections between biomechanics, hemodynamics and metabolism in the eye, in order to gain a better understanding of the risk factors that may be responsible for various ocular diseases.
